Affordable Lifts came into existence when two brothers came together to address a need within their own family.
Paulette's mother, Jeanne, reached the point where the steps into and out of her home were just too hard to manage and unsafe for her. Even with the help of a caregiver, they were a real obstacle for her getting to doctor appointments, visiting friends, and going to church. When she was diagnosed with cancer and underwent chemo treatments, it became imperative to find a solution that was safe, easy for her to use, and within a reasonable price range. So, the family began looking for a solution.
After spending days and weeks trying to find a cost effective solution, the family realized just how elusive a solution was! Ramps took up more space then was available, and were costly. Stair chairs were prohibitively expensive, and wheelchair lifts seemed to be, too! Jeanne didn't need all the bells and whistles. She needed a simple, safe solution to get her safely in and out of her home. The two brothers with engineering expertise collaborated, and Affordable Lifts was born!
The first lift was built in one owner's backyard in Lynchburg, VA. Pleased with the simplicity of design and affordable price point, they planned initially to produce only a few a week, but demand grew quickly! It wasn't long before they outgrew the backyard and moved into a nearby manufacturing facility, where they grew from a side project on the weekends to a full-time manufacturing business shipping globally. Affordable Lifts continues to grow, seeking to meet people's needs and to make this world a better and more accessible place, one Affordable Lift at a time.
These lifts are designed and assembled with care and pride right here in the U.S.A.
